I need to moan again! Sad

Does anyone else find that their consultant appointments always seem to be cancelled! I saw my consultant in March, then i was meant to see Him in June but that was cancelled and re-arranged for September then today another cancellation letter to change the September one to November!

I know i see the Nurse in between but it does make me cross...

Right rant over! I guess they could be seeing people that really need help or a diagnosis, I do see the nurse in between so I should really stop moaning.

I love people who can make you smile even when you do not feel like smiling. x

Moan away. If you can't on here then where else can you. We do understand. Unfortunately I think your Consultant appointment is being cancelled due to Government targets. New patients have to be seen really quickly and only a Consultant can diagnose R.A. Unfortunately there are not enough Consultants to go around. I must admit I do get to see my RA nurse more than my Consultant. If you feel you are not being listened to by your Nurse then tell her that you want to see the Consultant earlier than November and I am sure they can pull some strings.

Hang on in there.

Hi Lou - I agree with Jackie. Unfortunately NHS cuts have mean we may have to wait even longer for appointments. I am sure they could make cuts in other areas. When people are in extreem pain and not able to be seen by anyone, it kind of flies in the face of patient care.

I guess this depends on whether your Nurse is an Advanced Rheumatology Practitioner or a specialist Rheumatology Nurse. The couple of times I've seen our ARP and there has been a problem, she has taken me in to see the consultant. Maybe it works like that where you are too? Really hope so. xx

hi lou, i get my letters as you do about cancelled appts, i waited for over a year to see my r/doc but the problem really was the r/nurse i had was hopeless she just was not there for me or anyone,i had to relly on my gp who i must add was so good,we now have a new r/nurse who is on the ball and always at hand, she is so nice she cares too and gave me a mound of info i never was told,i must say i was seen very fast when first got r/a so i dont mind waiting for appts too much it just makes the list longer of what i want to ask when i get there.have a good moan i do.
